The CIty of Gaithersburg Recreation Department is hosting a Melelana Intro to Hula Series on Monday eveings at 6pm starting June 27. Classes will be at Casey Community Center located at: 810 S Frederick Ave, Gaithersburg, MD 20877.
Come learn to Hula dance and surprise your friends and family at your next luau party!
This is a beginner class to learn Hula dance technique, steps and hand movements. No dance experience necessary. Brief (5 minute) lecture topics will be presented on occasion that include Hula terminology, history and costuming. Printed handouts will be provided. Participants can sign up for weekly summary emails that include access to music files, choreography notes and videos that can be used as class aids. A choreographed dance routine will be taught in each class.
